ABOUT

Welcome!

My name is Fiorela, but everyone calls me Fiore, which means ‘flower’ in Italian. Originally from Peru, I’ve spent most of my life abroad. Now, I’m based in beautiful Lausanne, Switzerland, where I live with my husband.

I’m a self-taught crochet designer with a deep passion for fiber arts and handmade craftsmanship. I find joy in nature, floral prints, thrifting, a good cup of coffee, and discovering beauty in everyday moments.

How it all started...

My love for crochet began in 2012 when I set out to make a pair of slippers—and I haven’t stopped since! From the very start, I loved designing my own pieces, amazed by how a simple crochet hook and yarn could bring ideas to life. Over time, my curiosity led me to explore knitting, sewing, embroidery, and macramé, deepening my appreciation for textile arts.

Learning more about the realities of the fashion industry pushed me to rethink my own consumption. I embraced slow fashion, choosing secondhand and vintage clothing whenever possible. This passion for sustainability naturally evolved into a love for thrifting—giving old pieces a second life. In 2022, I took things a step further by starting to sew my own clothes, with the dream of one day having a fully handmade wardrobe.

This love for craftsmanship and sustainability led me to create FioreLila—a space where I share my crochet designs, handmade accessories, and creative tutorials to inspire others to embrace the beauty of handmade.
